With all of the alpine snow falling and low altitude rain my options were limited for hiking.  So I decided to head out towards Hope and explore some of the Skagit Valley.  While hanging around the banks of Silver Lake I met an aboriginal man that was hunting for Pine Mushrooms.  He explained that he has been hunting the Skagit Valley for over twenty years and that he has been prospecting the hills for gold.  He even produced a chunk of rock with a small vein in it.

After spending some time at the lower elevations I decided to head across the border and into the Snoqualmie National Forest for some shots of Mt. Shuksan, but alas it started to snow and then the fog moved in.  Still no chains by the way.  I really need to get around to that.  Here are a couple shots of Washington State near Glacier.
