A Perfect Fall Drive with Dad
Today, Dad and I took one of those drives that reminds you why autumn in Ontario feels like a blessing. We headed north of Belleville, winding our way through Kaladar and beyond, where the forests are set ablaze with reds, oranges, and golds that seem to glow from within. Every turn revealed another postcard view—lakes reflecting the sky, old barns framed by maples, and that crisp air that smells faintly of pine and nostalgia.
There’s something timeless about these drives with him. We don’t need to talk much; the silence between us feels full. Just the hum of the tires, the crunch of leaves underfoot when we stop, and that quiet understanding that moments like this don’t need to be big to be meaningful—they just need to be shared.
It was one of those perfect fall days where time slows down, the world softens, and everything feels exactly as it should be.
