Took a nice drive through the countryside to Bon Echo Provincial Park to enjoy the fall colours and spend some time hiking.
This time of year, that part of Ontario is hard to beat. The roads are lined with brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows, the air is cool, and the park is a lot quieter than it is during the summer months.
We spent some time walking the trails, taking in the scenery, and enjoying the view across Mazinaw Lake. The massive cliffs rising above the water are impressive any time of year, but surrounded by the fall colours, they're something else entirely.
I've travelled all over the world and seen some incredible places, but I still think we underestimate just how beautiful Ontario can be, especially in October.
Sometimes a drive through the countryside, a good hike, and a few hours away from everything are all you need.
If you've never been to Bon Echo in the fall, it's definitely worth the trip.
